In 1982, Joseph B. Corpina, Jr., a bright, energetic sixth grader tragically died in an accident at theyoung age of 11. Most of Joseph’s injuries were inflicted to his head, which is why The Joseph
Foundation chose to concentrate most of its efforts in the area of children’s traumatic brain injury (TBI). Believing that every child is a gift, his family established The Joseph Foundation in order to improve the quality of life for children with traumatic brain injury.
The Foundation has helped those who have survived such a life-altering event by awarding grants to children’s trauma hospitals such as St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in Queens, New York and Blythdale
Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York. St. Mary’s has received much press lately for the wonderful work they’ve been doing. The grants awarded by the Foundation have allowed for the purchase of
Oxygen Self-Sufficiency Units, Portable Ventilators, Sound Dampening Systems, Spirometers, Biofeedback Software, and many other related items.
The Joseph Foundation will continue in its primary mission to support, sustain and improve the quality of life for traumatic brain injured children. For additional general information, please contact
The Joseph Foundation, PO Box 178-H, Scarsdale, NY 10583. Please send any donations to The
Joseph Foundation c/o Joseph B. Corpina, Esq., 2344 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY 10469. Please be as generous as your means allow and contribute to this worthy cause.
